Publish your app

Updated October 12, 2026

Publish puts your app online at its own address, so your users can reach it. It takes a few minutes. Later, Publish Updates replaces what is online with the latest confirmed version of your project, at the same address.

Before you publish

  • Your app has been built, and you have tried it in the Preview.
  • If your project has a plan, the balance has been paid. See How payment works.
  • Dave has finished what he is working on. While he is busy, publishing waits with "This project is still working. Try again once it settles."

Publish for the first time

  1. Choose Publish.
  2. Read the note, then choose Publish again.
  3. The button shows Publishing…. When the app is online, its link appears in the publish panel, and Dave posts it in the chat.

Publishing takes a few minutes; the link appears here when it is ready.

Your app starts with an address we give it. It keeps working after you connect a domain of your own. See Connect your own domain.

Publish updates

Changes Dave makes after delivery, and code you confirm in the Code panel, show in the Preview straight away. They reach your users when you publish again:

  1. Choose Manage to open Published project.
  2. Under Publish the current code, choose Publish Updates.

It takes a few minutes, and the address stays the same. Only confirmed code is published: confirm or discard any edits in the Code panel first. See Your code.

Published project shows where your app is live, and publishes updates.

The publish panel keeps checking for 15 minutes. If the link still hasn't appeared, email help@davethebest.com with your project's name, and we'll look into it.
